New Wastewater Treatment Plant May Come to Kendall County

The Kendall West Utility has three years before its lease is up, and it’s in the process of deciding how to approach the future. The equipment is almost forty years old and is showing its age, and its technology barely meets some of the lower standards set by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. The Boerne Star reported the KWU President has filed a permit to build a new wastewater treatment plant. A virtual public meeting is scheduled for Sept. 21 with TCEQ and KWU and the two groups are expected to discuss discharge zones and a potential impact on Boerne Lake.
