Largest Bond Ever in Comfort Would Give Schools a Boost

The Comfort Independent School District is putting the largest bond to date on the ballot in the November election. It’s a $37.7 million bond that will be up for a vote in Kendall and Kerr counties. The bonds aim is improving things like student safety, drop-off and pickup efficiency, updating technology, and it would make room for a new gymnasium at Comfort High School. The tax increase amount would take effect in 2021, and owners of a $250,000 home would see an tax increase of about $325 per year. Early voting runs from Oct. 21 to Nov. 1 and election day is Nov. 5.
