Fredericksburg May Buy New Fire Truck

Fredericksburg Fire EMS is setting money aside for a new truck. The fire department has increased its annual budget to buy a new pumper truck that the Fredericksburg Standard reports will cost $1 million. The truck would be purchased on a 10-year lease and would take about two years to build before the department can put it into action. They’ll also buy a new ambulance under the budget, which they say is necessary to handle the increased call volume.
