Lead Investigator to Run for Sheriff

The chief investigator for the Kerr County Sheriff’s Office is running for sheriff next year. Carol Twiss has worked with KCSO for more than two decades after starting her career as a jailer in Kendall County. She’s worked her way up to captain in the Kerr County Sheriff’s Office and has overseen the criminal investigation team for the past 16 years. Sheriff Rusy Hierholzer is stepping down, and a new sheriff will be elected in the 2020 election Nov. 3. The primary election will take place March 3. Candidates can officially file from Nov. 9 through Dec. 9, 2019.
