Several in Bandera Have Citizenship Questioned

Nineteen people in Bandera County have been sent letters asking them to verify their citizenship status after state data challenged that status. The Bandera Bulleting reported it’s over the ability to vote, but a refined count shows almost half of that total should not have had their citizenship questioned. Bandera County Election Officials have sent letters to disregard after names appeared on a list from the Texas secretary of state’s office last month of people with uncertain citizenship status. Others who have questionable citizenship status have 30 days to produce birth certificates, naturalization papers or a U.S. passport confirming their citizenship, and if they don’t they could have voter registrations cancelled.
