November Candidate is Disqualified

A Bandera man has been disqualified as a candidate for mayor. Art Crawford could not produce documents showing he had been fully discharged from a felony conviction he received decades ago, according to the Bandera Bulletin. The felony conviction came in Oklahoma 30 years ago related to an embezzlement in an insurance matter. Crawford is president of the Bandera Economic Development Corporation and directs the Silver Sage Center. He’s been discharged from the conviction, but couldn’t produce the paperwork by the ballot deadline. That leaves incumbent Mayor Suzanne Schauman and former Councilwoman Cindy Coffey on the ballot in the November 6th election.
