River Cleanup Was a Success

The Upper Guadalupe River Authority’s 15th annual river cleanup the last weekend of July was a big success. Over 500 people collected 10,480 pounds of garbage while they worked along the river from Hunt all the way to Center Point. Volunteers collected a lot of expected trash, but also discovered a rotary pay phone, large rubber float, and engine and 21 tires, according to the Daily Times. The effort will keep trash from accumulating in the Guadalupe River.
