Bat Tests Positive for Rabies

Another rabies case in Kerr County, and that makes seven this year. Kerr County Animal Services responded last week after a dead bat was found at a home on Quinlan Creek Drive in Kerrville. The family dog came into contact with it, but was up to date on its rabies vaccine and should be okay but will be in quarantine for 45 days. KCAS sends the reminder to make sure all dogs are up to date on shots, and remember that bats and racoons are two of the biggest rabies carriers in the Hill Country.
